Why limit your revenue sources really for what something that's beyond all our control. As people have been pointing out your materials not pirate safe on DVD. It takes only a few short hours to rip a dvd convert it for the web and upload to a web site or other internet delivery medium. None of us like it but to be honest the people who download ripped off stuff or buy knock off DVD's are never gonna pay us direct the proper asking price, so your worrying about a dead market. Concentrate all your efforts on getting your message across to paying punters on whatever media is available.
Is this the end of paid porn on the net?

Jimslip said ?It's not just us, what about all the record companies and film producers, who spend millions on their products only to have them shared for free.?
First thing to say is that I?m not agreeing with software/dvd or whatever piracy. However, in the music industry there has been one advantage of piracy and that?s the increase in live music. Bands now have to make money out of merchandise and playing live and being able to play an instrument not just sitting in a warm comfortable studio letting computers do all the work.
Maybe in our industry we can learn something from this?

You mean we should do live perfomances too? Ha ha..I'm just being slick Androm.
Yep you are right. We will be doing it live in a few months after we launch with Wrist Action TV in January.
As for selling the t shirts I'm not so sure. Mind you if our Uncle Ben can do a roaring trade in underpants then I'm sure there might be some mileage in that idea.

Yup - it's much easier to rip a DVD than an encrypted stream or download.

Nope - it's relatively easy to rip an encrypted stream and/or download.

Yes I know. Almost as easy as ripping a DVD. !happy!
As someone else said on this thread, the only way to stop your work being pirated is to never release it in any format. Piracy's just something we have to live with, for now.

Pirate video's/DVD's, Newspapers stories & media stolen on the internet is bloody annoying but the plus side is all the free advertising. We used to get very pissed off with it but soon learnt this is the way of the world, if its out there in any format it will be copied.

As you can't beat them at present you might as welll join them
I've no idea of how revenue streams work on the net but have seen many sites using stolen material turned around to become advertising
Just like Spam...even if only 1 out of a 100000 becomes a paying customer because they can't wait or want to see more thats 1 more than without
pirate sites
